‘Chrysalis’ is a multi-disciplinary work about eating disorders

It's about living with them; about how they get under your skin.

About being treated for them — how they respond when you stop feeding them.

It's about those who recover, and those who don't.

The show keeps one foot in the world of cabaret & clown, with these playful forms balancing the weight of the subject matter. A key gesture is the presence of three eating disorder ‘Deities’; heightened non-human figures who represent the relationship between ED sufferers & their disorders.

We are currently preparing for an R&D of ‘Chrysalis’ at Shoreditch Town Hall in November 2025, supported by funding from Arts Council England.

As part of our development process we are working with an Eating Disorder Survivor steering group, as well as supporting an Apprentice Artist and delivering workshops to Queer / Disabled / Neurodiverse / Mad communities.
